The Conair Infiniti pro hot air spin brush is the latest “style as you dry” tool that promises smooth, voluminous, and frizz-free hairstyles in minutes without heat damage.

I took it for a spin (pun intended) to see if it lives up to its expectations, and here’s my honest personal review:

Blow Dryer and Styler in One

Hot air brush by Conair brand to straighten and curl while drying

Blow dry and style at the same time. This hot air brush combines the benefits of two hairstyling tools in one to help you reduce frizz after washing your hair. You won’t have to waste time switching back and forth between a blow dryer and a brush.

For best results, allow your hair to air dry for a bit before using it, as the brush is not strong enough to dry wet hair.

Ionic Heat Technology

This brush boasts a powerful ion generator that doesn't live up

One of the best features of this brush is the ionic heat technology. Instead of using direct heat to dry and style the hair, this brush generates negative ions that help break down water molecules to disperse them from the hair. This results in less frizziness and a more sleek and shiny finish.

There is also no risk of heat damage.

It’s OK at Detangling But Not Always

Styling brushes aren’t always the best when it comes to detangling your hair. The bristles on these brushes can be a true nightmare, especially for curly-haired girls.

I have wavy hair, and the tangle-free soft bristles on the Conair brush do a pretty good job at detangling with ease. However, it didn’t work so well when my friend, who has coarse hair, tried it.

She found the bristles to be too soft. So she had to use her fingers to fluff up her curls for more body and definition.

It Works for Straight Hair and Curls

Curly-haired girls usually avoid brushes like the plague because they can very well turn every lock and curl into a giant frizzy mess. While this is true, you shouldn’t always be tiptoeing around ceramic-coated styling tools; you just need to find the right brush.

The same goes for wavy-haired and straight-haired girls. Heat isn’t always so bad, as long as you’re using the right temperature setting and not passing one strand more than five times.

This brush also works with curls, waves, and straight hair. But it won’t work on coily and kinky hair.

Portability

The Conair hot brush is small enough to pack into your bag or luggage when traveling. However, please note that it’s not dual-voltage. You may need an adapter plug.

Heats Up Pretty Quickly

This brush heats up only in 30 seconds, even if you adjust to the highest settings. This is a huge plus because it means you don’t have to wait for the brush to heat up before styling your hair.

2 Heat Settings And a Cool Shot

The Conair Infiniti Pro hot air brush has 2 heat settings and a cool setting.

While that’s not as many as other tools in its category, it gets the job done. The heat settings are perfect for all hair types and help you achieve your desired look without risking heat damage.

And finally, the cool shot setting helps lock your style in place to stack up on some extra style points.

What I Didn’t Like:

Infinitipro by conair reviews

Although the Conair hot brush has many desirable features, a few limitations, unfortunately, let it down.

Here are a few problems I found:

The Handles are Too Thick to Hold

Although the Conair brush looks small and cute, the handles are too thick to handle, especially if you have small hands, you may struggle.

It doesn’t provide the comfortable grip, and convenience one would like when trying to style long hair. I felt discomfort holding the handle for a few minutes when doing my hair.

Gets Too Hot to Handle

I was quite surprised to see this brush overheating after only a few minutes of use. Although it didn’t happen in the early days when it was new, after 2 weeks, it felt like the motor was struggling and overheating for no reason.

It Only Lasted 2 Months!

Alas, after 2 months, it ended up in the bin as it stopped working completely. Overall, it was disappointing to see it die so quickly, but luckily it wasn’t too expensive. I bought it on a special offer with a 20% discount. So I am not gonna cry about it.

What Other Reviewers Say

Sifting through Amazon and Target reviews for this product, here are the most common things that popped up in the reviews:

  • Easy to use
  • The brush is too short and only works up to shoulder length hair
  • Waste of money
  • The air gets too hot at times
  • Poor quality
  • Not powerful enough to spin
  • Bristles falling out after a few uses

Overall, a mixed bag of good and bad reviews. After trying it myself, I can confidently say it’s not worth it.

Final Thoughts

The InfinitiPro by Conair hot air brush is ok as a budget 2-in-1 lightweight hair styling tool. It can dry your hair as you style, reduce post-shower frizziness, and make your hair smooth and shiny in minutes. But it does have a few flaws like durability, reliability, and performance issues that may put you off.

For these reasons, I’ve decided to splash out on a high-end hot air styling brush. I’ve had the Dyson Airwrap for months now, and honestly, It’s the Apple of hot air brushes. I’m still in awe and curious about its endless possibilities, that I haven’t completely figured out yet!
